Rico Nasty has dropped a remix to her song "Magic," which she released back in July, that can only be described as magical. The power of women is on full display as the remix features Australian acts BARKAA and MADM3MPRESS. The two additions showcase our corner of the world with BARKAA delivering some sharp bars that weave within the smooth vocals from MADAM3MPRESS.
"Big ups to Rico Nasty for allowing us to be a part of this. To have a Black African woman (myself), and a First Nations woman (BARKAA) appear together on a track like "Magic" is such a big statement," says MADAM3MPRESS about the collab. "I hope it will help the world to see we have an important culture here - one of colour, one of power and one of womanhood."
For BARKAA she felt honoured to be on what she feels is a historical remix with one of the biggest names in the game right now. The experience was surreal and pushed her into new territory. She says, "It was such a mad opportunity to be able to jump on the remix of "Magic" alongside MADAM3EMPRESS and to be able to show a softer side to myself, it took me out of my comfort zone and made me think outside the box which was an experience for me as an artist."
The lyric video has significant ties to the First Nations over in Australia to coincide with the artists featured. Our friends at Cool Accidents went into greater detail about it's significance.
Rico Nasty's upcoming mixtape Rx will feature the song "Magic." Rx will be her first project since Nightmare Vacation which she dropped last year.
