Get ready, there is new music from Queen Bey coming soon. It's been five years since her last studio album Lemonade. Even though 2016's Lemonade was her last studio album the music flow from the icon wasn't stopped. Other projects released since then include the 2018 collab album with Jay-Z Everything Is Love, the 2019 movie soundtrack The Lion King: The Gift and Homecoming: The Live Album which also included the film of her 2018 Coachella performances.
"With all the isolation and injustice over the past year, I think we are all ready to escape, travel, love, and laugh again," she said in a interview with Harper's Bazaar. "I feel a renaissance emerging, and I want to be part of nurturing that escape in any way possible."
Beyonce confirmed she has been in the studio during the last year and a half working on new material. Her process has included screening thousands of sounds to find the perfect fit for different harmonies or even a simple drum kick.
She continues in her interview to say, "I'm at a point where I no longer need to compete with myself. I have no interest in searching backwards. The past is the past."
If it's a renaissance Beyonce wants then we are sure one will happen. She is just at the level of influence where she can really dictate what is mainstream and others will of course follow. All we have to do now is sit and wait in anticipation of what this renaissance will sound like.
