    According to TMZ rapper Kanye West has filed documents in Los Angeles to legal change his name from Kanye Omari West to Ye.

    While this is the first time Kanye has taken an official step towards changing his name it isn't the first time it has come up for the rapper. Back in 2018 he changed his name on Twitter and tweeted out his identity. 

    All of this comes while he is out doing listening parties for his latest album Donda. It was supposed to be released a couple weeks ago but hasn't yet. Rumours are he is trying to set up a potential release battle with Drake and his upcoming album.
