PJ Morton has teamed up with fellow soul singer BJ The Chicago Kid to pay tribute to Sam Cooke. The duo have put out a cover and video of the song which is done in the style of the recent movie One Night In Miami which features a fictional meeting between US Civil Rights icons Malcom X, Jim Brown, Muhammed Ali and Sam Cooke who is portrayed by Leslie Odom Jr.
The music video takes place in a motel room that resembles the one just like in the movie. It also features Kenyon Dixon and guitarist Charlie Bereal.
PJ and BJ originally had the song planned for a project but with the success of the film they decided to release on its own. Check out this soulful cover below.
We have def added this to our playlist which features some of the best R&B covers and their originals. New Zealands' own Aaradhna has her own rendition of this song as well. Listen and like below.
